My front axle on my ST takes a 19 MM hex key to remove it ($24.00 ath the
hardware store). Well 19 MM is 3/4 ". So I found a bolt with a 3/4" head on
it and put two nuts on it back to back, so they lock against one another and
inserted the head of the bolt into the axle and used a cresent wrench on the
nuts to remove the axle. You could easily carry this in your tool kit. Now
that darn 46 mm rear axle nut is the same as a 1 13/16" socket. But the
socket is so large and takes a breaker bar to use it. Haven't found anywhere
to carry it, so I have AAA and carry a cell phone.
