I also read somewhere that it's also a matter of leverage...best effected
by pulling up on the bike from a point close to the pivot point of the
stand.  So that was indicating a grab point directly above the centerstand
would be best, but I can't say I've ever had a bit of trouble centering it
with the handle that's placed when the hard bags are installed.
