That 'twas I Martin. But I actually tapped a thread into the ID of the
hole, then screwed a socket cap screw in to tighten it. So the
bolt/washer/nut set-up works just as well, eh? I was concerned at the time
that it might interfere with the folding action. that still works OK?

And for those of you that feel you have "good enough" vision with the
mirrors "as is" let me just say that I was never that dissatisfied with the
stock set-up either. I could squeeze my elbows in a bit or lean a bit and
see what I needed and I almost always double check with a quick head turn.
BUT, the extensions offer such a better view that it is really astounding.
I have a full panoramic view now, what I see in the inside of one mirror is
duplicated in inside of the other. Much more comforting than before.

Yeah, I know, I'm like the little kid with the new toy no one else has. :]
Sorry. I will post pictures verrry soon. But remember these are only a
"prototype" tested for functionality, but they still are pretty cool.

And as for the boots. The spacers fit *below* the mirror base so the boots
remain. Just picture a delrin spacer that the base and mirror sit on top of
attached the the faring....see? One side benefit *seems* to be that the
boots are staying on better though! Something to do with the spacer base
"pinching" the edge of the boot to the base. Can't say if this will hold
true on production units, 'tho I certainly hope so, didn't have to screw
around with those suckers all week-end.
