[ST] crankcase breather seal

I'm still investigating an oil leak(s) my bike is having. I found some
weepage between the two crankcase halves in the front of the bike, right
behind the header.

But the major contributor seems to be oil coming down out of the airbox
via the drain tube. I noticed this because the tube somehow got stuck up on
top of the swingarm, and the swingarm would just be coated in oil and
dirt.

In looking back in some of my old emails, I came across this post Eric
Sheley sent to me:

Was speaking with a tech here in Florida yesterday and he has
seen a number of these in the recent past.

Behind the left hand engine cover is a breather assembly which
consists of a centrifugal disc assembly and a lip type seal
which is designed to prevent oil from entering the outlet for
crankcase gases. The seal in the cover must be installed so
that the sealing surface is toward the breather / crankshaft -
this allows the crankcase pressure to push the sealing surface
against the sealing surface of the breather wheel. IF this seal
is installed in reverse from the factory, the seal will work
for some period of time until the rubber begins to harden at
which point the seal will begin to fail, allowing oil into the
airbox, down the drain tube and over the bottom of the bike.

When installing a new seal, the tech must make sure that the
side with the writing is installed in the cover so that it
points toward the breather / crankshaft.

With the number of Daytonas and STs that this has happened on,
there is obviously someone at the factory that is not qualified
to be installing these things. I know that "printed side toward
motor" is a pretty difficult concept to grasp....

I went to check this seal on my bike. I got the cover off, can see the
disc. Then I pried the seal out of the cover, but can't see any writing
on it to indicate if it's in the right direction or not. I'll upload a
picture here in a minute and maybe someone can tell me if it's correct?

Even if it is, I'm thinking I might get a new one anyway.

Thanks,
Brian
