[ST] Dead ST

Thanks to all who responded to my request for input on my dead ST. Volt
meter across battery terminals showed 3.6 volts, and I couldn't get so much
as a 'click' out of any component. Fuses all OK. Put an automotive battery
type charger at 'low' setting on it for an hour, then switched it to the
Battery Tender for about seven hours. Started right up and ran fine. Am of
course continuing charging at home. So, did I leave the parking light
on?.....don't know. Or is there some other gremlin lurking in the bowels of
my ST? Once battery seems fully charged, will stop using Battery Tender and
see if it holds a charge.

BTW. Contacted my dealer, Back Roads Triumph, in Jacksonville, NC. Lots of
good advice given, things to look for, how to put a load on the battery, how
to charge from an automotive charger,etc..In short, they were in no hurry to
get me off the phone, and told me they'd do whatever it took to make it
right. These guys should give classes to some other dealers on good customer
relations. If you're ever in the area, stop by and check them out. They're
just a good group of guys who enjoy bikes, just like us.

Thanks All,
Bill
