That would explain why the light came on after the earth lead was cut.
Except mine reset itself. I was on the way to the dealer to get it fixed and
stopped at a servo to buy fuel. When I restarted the bike the light went
out. I think that probably would have been the third restart since the lead
was cut. This was all on my old '00 ST btw.
