Re: [ST] Cheaper tires are fine, but what about the install?

I have their front and rear stand, as well as their static wheel balancer.
All are good quality, and their customer service is great. I purchased the
static wheel balancer at the moto-show in Chicago last year (I had been
borrowing a friends when I needed it, but he was moving), and they didn't
have the larger cones with them. They accidentally shipped me the Triumph
adapter for the rear stand, and when I called them, they told me to keep
it, and the cones showed up 2 days later. Their larger cones for the
balancer work perfectly on the Triumph ST rear wheel.

On the whole tyre changing thing, learning to do this and not booger up
your rims is a bitch. It's all in the technique, and the tools. Get some
good tyre irons and rim protectors. I almost gave up the first time I
changed tyres 6 years ago. It was incredibly frustrating. Once I learned
the technique and the little tricks to make it easier, I can do the entire
job, start to finish (i.e. remove wheels, change tyres, back on bike) in
about an hour.

If you're in the Chicago area and want a lesson on this, let me know. I've
got all the tools you'll need, and my price for tyre changing is a case of
beer. I will make you change one of your tires after you watch me change
the other one. In addition to the case of beer (Miller Lite is fine), the
additional cost for my knowledge is allowing me to smile and laugh at you
struggling to figure out how I made it look so easy. :-)

I have some old pictures of tyre changing on my web page at
http://tad.gralewski.com --> Click on Other Motorcycle Stuff, and Tire
Changing 101. This was from my early days of changing tires. I have since
added a JCWhitney bead breaker and a bunch of rim protectors to the mix.
The technique is still the same though.

Hope this helps!
