[ST] Offside usage (Non ST but m/c in general)

I'm not aware that traffic weaving is illegal, although I'm sure that if an
incidence could be classed as dangerous driving the police would treat it
as such. but this would depend upon the cirumstances. I'll happily weave
thourgh traffic on my way to work every morning, as I use a 40mph dual
carriageway with a lot of buses and lorries, so the traffic is fairly slow
moving. And I'll alwys move to the front at a red light if the gap is big
enough (which it usually is, as most car owners think that their car is
half as wide again than it really is). My m/c friends also weave, to a
greater or lesser extent than myself (depending upon their level of
foolhardiness, which seems to decrease with age). I'll only weave up to a
certain speed which is dependent upon traffic density, lane width etc.
I've witnessed the M25 around London which is fairly horrendous, with m/c's
weaving past cars doing 80mph, which i believe is bordering on suicidal.

As far as I'm aware, most motorcyclists think along these terms. The
biggest exceptions are the hog riders, and I've always put that down to the
fact that their bikes are just too big anyway and they're far too proud of
their shiny chrome!

Glyn.
