What other mods has he done?  Lots of things can change the "harmonics."  
For example, I have noticed more vibration in the grips and pegs since 
installing frame sliders.  It's not so obtrusive that it is ruining my day, 
but then again, if I used the bike for more than canyon carving and track 
days it would probably drive me nuts.
