Actually, the answer to both is, "yes, that's correct."

A top Fuel dragster runs 6 to maybe 15 psi in the rear and probably 75 
psi in the front.  The weight distribution is no where near 50/50, so it 
works.  One reason a T.F. dragster is so long is to move the weight off 
of the front tires.  The small high pressure tires have very low rolling 
resistance.  If the bicycle tire and the monster truck tire were 
inflated to 30 psi each and loaded with the same weight, the contact 
patch would be identical, barring something unusual in the construction 
of the truck tire.

The loaded with the same weight seems to be the hang up.  Remember, 
pounds divided by psi = inches.
