Hi All,
Here's some thoughts on various issues:
Digest:
Untrimmed replies result in digest users
having to read the same stuff over and over
(and over).
Pipe changes (for the dude near Medford):
As was stated, the pipe has nothing to do
with downloading to the computer. It may
affect the overall volumetric efficiency
and hence the "jetting". I considered
building an underseat exhaust, but bailed
on the idea when I found how well my homemade
prototype system worked out. It is one
aluminum can from a Cobra F1 pair adapted
to the stock Triumph header. Works great.
has a nice howl and runs stronger and better
throughout. It was cheap (free from a
friend) and it fits under the luggage.
Still running the original tune from '99
with no problems.
Sprockets:
I went to up the 19T to lower the cruising
revs and to help keep the front wheel on
the ground.
Tires:
Stock BT-57 tires worked great. I swapped
to a 190 BT-56ss rear, it worked even better.
Then went to a D207 set and found them to be
unsettling. I'll likely go back to the
Brigestones. Thanks for the Avon heads up.
Rearsets:
Why not just replace the stock pegs with
something that has no offset? I plan to try
some straight aluminum bar in place of the
knee crampers.
Tankbags & turbulence:
I've used two different styles of Eclipse
bags, standard and sport, and found that
they fit no problem, but the turbulence is
worse with either in place. After installing
the factory 3 bag set, the bike is MUCH more
susceptible to crosswinds.
Loose screws and Locktite:
I love Locktite. I normally use it on everything.
It does have a big problem with ABS plastic... it
will crystallize ABS! Keep it the hell away from
your bodywork! This I know from experience.
