He-he, that's been my favorite game for years as well, Steve.  Most of my 
riding bud's down here will attest (Chris, Jack, David, Tom, Brian).  I have 
driven them all batty with this tactic, so I usually do this "tour" alone.  
I just pick two directions, say, north and east, and just head those 
directions on any/all roads that look interesting.  I keep this up for 
hours, or days, to the halfway point of the alloted time.  Then turn and 
head, south & west, trying to avoid most of previously ridden roads (unless, 
of course they were killer-diller).  Funny, sometimes I never even look at a 
map.  I figure I will end up SOMEWHERE.  Of course I have on more than one 
occasion found a few dead-ends, or pavement turning to gravel to dirt.  But 
I've also found paradise (...by the dashboard lights) :]
