[ST] Pucker Factor

Well, had a bit of a high pucker Factor yesterday.  Had to go from San Antonio to Austin yesterday for meetings and a trade show.  It was a beautiful day, so I decided on the motorcycle for my choice of POV.  Stopped at the gas station, filled up, checked the tires, rear was a bit low, so filled it up, thinking it was due to the recent cold weather we've been having.  I was on the road for about 20 mins doing about 70mph.  When I came up on a slow moving truck in the right lane.  Went to pass him on the left, but as soon as I crossed the lane divider, POP!  My Rear tire blew and not to a gentle hissing....it lost all the air and the left bead broke.  Rearend started slewing left and right like a slalom skier.  Not exactly sure how, but I managed to keep the bike up and move over to the right lane and gently slow down.  Was scared to hit the front brakes too much for fear of upsetting the bike even more.  Was also lucky, the cage behind was also a cyclist and when he saw my t!

ow, started to move over so that I had a clear lane to move into to get over and stop.  He stopped and asked if I needed any help.  Only another cyclist would have done that.  Course if it had been a Volvo it probably would have gotten startled and speedup to rearend me ;) j/k.  I ended up being able to talk my dealership to come pick me up (was only about 20 mins away from them) and put a BT020 on (so far not a bad tire).  Unfortunately I'd lost half the day and decided not to push my luck and stayed in San Antonio.  Course the mechanics at the dealership still giving me ribbing about that funny crease in my saddle.
