RE: [ST] Hydration Packs

Eric

I forget what brand mine is. Anyway, I believe it has a 2 or 3 liter
capacity. I use it for skiing in the winter in the backpack it came with.

On the bike, I usually will fill it 1/2 way, fold it over too keep the water
up to the exit hose, and stuff it into the map pocket of my Triumph tank
bag. The hose gets loosely wrapped around the handle that is right in front
of my belly. Getting a drink is a matter of grabbing the end and stuffing it
up underneath the chin of the helmet. Pretty easy to do after a little
practice. I've had very few issues with turbulence whipping the hose around
or dislodging it.

Biggest problem I had one time was the mouth piece got pinched between my
leg and the seat at a gas station. Somebody pointed excitedly at the ground.
Thought I had one hell of a leaking fuel sender for about three seconds!!

Subject: [ST] Hydration Packs

Anyone using a Camelback (or other brand) hydration back in combo with a
full face helmet? I am using a Shoei RF800 and Quiet Rider insert. Just
wondering if anyone has been using a Camelback and how well it's been
working, especially if you've been running the bite tube into the helmet. I
may head to REI with my helmet, but any suggestions much appreciated (plus,
the hydration packs are so much cheaper on the Web). I'll be buying one for
hiking, SAR, and mtn biking anyway. Recommendations??
(Oh yeah, archive search revealed no hits).

Thanks,
Eric
