[ST] Tour Master jackets

I have a Tour Master Cortech 3/4 length riding jacket that I just love.
It's got protective padding at the elbows, shoulders and back. This padding
is removable for washing. The inner liner is removable and has long
sleeves. (My Hein Giereke ?? leather jacket has a liner but it's
sleeveless. And on cold days, I could really feel it.) It'a also got more
pockets than I've been able to use. It's a great jacket, and doesn't seem
to have the quality problem that were mentioned about the Joe Rocket.

I have the same Tour Master, and although the pluses mentioned in the
previous post are valid, the downs of the Tour Master are cold air leaking
around the zipper, and it's not particularly waterproof. You will get wet in
an extended rain ride, say 20 miles. The jacket is sealed at the front by
only the zipper and a velcroed flap. It does not keep cold air out as the
poorly tailored front bunches up. This was a fault that the Motoport guys
pointed out when they showed me their jacket. They were right. I like the
Motoport, but I have forgotten the model name mentioned in some earlier
posts, but I also like the Triumph jacket. The front is sealed by a zipper
on the liner, a triple foldover Gortex liner that is velcroed, the main
zipper, then a velcroed and snapped outer flap. Shouldn't have any cold air
or rain getting through that puppy! The motoport and Triumph jackets are
essentially the same price, about $350, my Tour Master was cheaper and you
can tell it.
