Steve-
My 99 Sprint ST gets 40 around town, and 50 on the road-speed doesnot mean
much to Big Red, far as milage goes. Now the rub. 40/50 happens only on
summer blend gasoline.
This year I got it up until December. Now Im getting about 36, and part of
it on a trip.
Last winter I was quite concerned about this and consulted the STD, and
Mickey at Orange County Triumph-Hes Great-always has a good answer, and his
crew is about the best around. That said, he thought my drive chain might
be worn out, I think I had about 9K on it. ( It was) Well, I changed it (
DID Chain) and milage didnt improve. It went back to 40/50 when the gas
blending changed for summer. Dont know if the chain needed to be broken in
or what.
The bike did the same thing when it was brand new-but it was purchased in
December 99.
By the way I live in Bakersfield, Ca, about 100 miles north of LA.
How about you guys who have the Race Can muffler-better gas milage? More HP?
I know they sound great! Im looking for one for mine!
Regards,
Burt &
Big Red
