Mine invariably comes on at 170 miles.  The furthest I have run after the light
showed was 30 miles and I was having kittens thinking I was going to have to
push the bike to the next gas station.  A search of the list archives shows me
that previously I had noted that within 6 miles of the light coming on I had
put in 17.64 litres.  The ST tank being a 21 litre tank that means that I have
3.36 litres left - enough for 30 miles!

NB this equates to 42 mpg (Imperial)
