The most I ever pushed it was 22x miles one time, and I had less than a
gallon left, but I wasn't running on fumes. That, of course, was before
I started having fuel sender problems last fall. Since then, I ran it
dry in Nowhere, OK at 209 miles, but that included 150 miles of spirited
riding down the Talimena Drive and back.

My light regularly comes on around 140 miles.

I got a new fuel sender last week, but haven't filled back up yet.

Still, that is some piss-poor mileage you're getting. Even with my
leaking fuel sender I was getting around 40mpg, and used to see 50mpg
regularly last summer.

Aside from the fuel sender, others have also said that a chain with
tight spots will reduce your mileage, as will riding with tires that are
underinflated (which can also be dangerous).

Laters,
Brian
