I too was looking at the Hornet to replace (or supplement) my RS
w/ the GIVI bags, but ruled it out because of the unavailability of
hard bags as a factory option (you'd think they'd have learned from
all the years they lost sales with the Interceptor for that reason).
Hopefully the new 1,000cc V4 they're coming out with will take them
back to the half-faired roots of the Interceptor, for warm climates.
You might look at the new Suzuki Sturm; very similar to the
Hornet but with detachable hard bags as a factory option,... and
getting rave reviews from the magazines. Very attractive!
Of course, there's always a chance (slim) that Triumph will come
out with a detachable hard-bag option for the RS (Real Sprint),... an
unbeatable combination for So. California.
