RE: [ST] NSW one piece shift lever

From the transmission shaft the lever comes out then bends backward.
The arm then extends back to the adjustable toe peg. The straight
section between the peg and the bend was shorted; I don't have the bike
today or I'd take a pic. If you look at their web page,
www.n-w-s.com/trick_triumph.htm, you can see the section right in front
of the peg is where it was shortened.
As for moving the peg up; I meant the foot peg itself. Everytime I
tried to get my toes under the lever to shift up I would try to slide
them from the outside in-between the foot peg and shift lever. When I
tried to slide in-between the instep/heel of my boot would catch the
edge of the foot peg, and to try and clear the interference I felt I
lifted my heel higher. Since the peg was caught on my boot, as I lifted
my heel the foot peg would pivot up out of the way. Then I'd have to
move my foot out again to allow the peg to drop back in place for my
stability.
I don't know if I explained it any better or just used more words this
time, but that's it.

I tried the shifter as it came and couldn't use it
without moving the foot peg up. I took the lever and
had ~5/8 of an inch removed, slightly more than the
15mm. Now $20 dollars later I have a one piece
shifter
that works like butter.

Could you explain this in a little more detail? I'm
trying to picture how the lever was modified to
shorten it. I'm also trying to figure out the bit
about moving the footpeg up. Thanks.
