Dave,
While temp comfort is a consideration, it's not a primary concern. Current 
street attire consists of    2 piece First Gear leather while riding in 
summer weather in S.E. US (after racing in heavy 1 piece suit at  places 
like Memphis or Roebling in 98F heat, _anything_ seems cool by comparison).
Real consideration is waterproofing, general fit/quality/durability, and 
lots of pockets. Intended use is for daily around town and long distance 
sport-touring.
I know folks have been raving about all the mesh jacket gear this year (Joe 
Rocket seems to have been bought by half the m/c'ing population here in the 
south) but I just can't bring myself to trust the stuff for a get-off.
