I agree with Matt that this is probably an issue with the wiring harness 
from the ignition down.  Check to see if it is being pinched when you 
turn the bars all the way to the left.  This is what happened with mine 
and all sorts of wierd happenings occured with the lights, etc.  The 
wires can be rerouted.  I do not think there was a recall on this, though.
