Re: [ST] 12k Tune Cost & Dealer Billing Practices

Jim?

Who serviced the bike at break-in and 6K? How were you charged then? Is
this your first-ever experience with automotive/motorcycle service Dept.
practices?

Are you aware that labor hours are not *real time* in most cases but merely a
multiplier that allows a dealer to give standardized estimates on a wide
range of individual machines/jobs before all circumstances can be taken into
account?
In effect they represent your *minimum* labor charge going into the job.

Was your air filter dirty? Were your rear brake pads worn out? Did the
dealer allow you to inspect the used parts? If so - why would you be unhappy
that the dealer inspected and advised you to change those items?

Sounds like there are issues involving trust between you and your servicing
dealer.

And last but not least -- don't you trust your dear old Dad?
