Thanks all, will try correctly setting sag and playing a little with 
rebound settings, and if necessary, go the Ohlins/RaceTech route per 
Bare's suggestion (and others') to reduce compression damping 
eventually... or maybe just take a ride up north if Jim Lindeman is 
still in business (he did wonders for my Hawk GT in the early 90s)...
