Steve, what year is your ST? The '02 is supposed to be better in this
respect. Mine feels warm but not unbearable. I do always wear leathers
though which may help insulate me from it. I only really feel it if I get
stuck if traffic, which I try to avoid in any case.

I think the problem is that engine heat is conducted into the frame members,
which are against your legs, rather that the engine running particularly
hot. Its all part of the ST's charm.
