[ST] SprinTona ST state of tune



Well I picked up my SprintTona yesterday in typical Minnesota/Wisconsin 
fashion--white out conditions, solid sheets of ice for a road surface, and 
4f ambient temp in the sun!

Todd, Team Triumph owner in Janesville WI and the fellow who sold me the 
2000 955i engine, told me something interesting that I wanted to get this 
august bodies input on.

When he was testing the bike after installing the engine, he noticed a flat 
spot at 3K under hard acceleration.  The state of tune during these runs was 
the 955i tune.  This tune also happened to disable my fuel sensor, something 
he warned me would happen.

Anyhow, when he discussed the flat spot with Shell Barr of Triumph America, 
Shell suggested just reloading the latest Sprint ST tune--to Todd's surprise 
(and mine) the flat spot disappeared (surprise) and my fuel sender was back 
in business (no surprise).

Does anyone think this hybrid tune, i.e., 955i running under a Sprint ST 
mapping, coupled with my K&N air filter and TwoBros sport pipe will have any 
bad effect on the long-term integrity of the engine?

BTW: I couldn't help myself and took the bike out for a 1/2 mile rip down 
the one dry road in WI--seems to go pretty fast, at least until my ear lobe 
turned blue and I had to abandon the ride for warmer environs.
