Evening All,
Just wanted to throw in my experience with bike insurance. I took a look at
GMAC after years with Progressive. I'm 29, clean record and live in the high
price Boston insurance zone. Progressive w/ $1,000 deductible, 25/50
coverage for my ST was $680, and all of those little charges (yeah, I noticed
those too). GMAC gave me $434 with $150 deductible, same coverage. On the
other hand, I carry 100/300 on my truck ('99 F250 SuperDuty 4x4 extended
cab), roadside assistance with repair coverage and car rental with
Progressive for $720 a year $500 deductible but GMAC wanted almost $1800 for
100/300 & $500 deductible only!!!!! After asking if they were kidding, I
signed up for bike insurance and left it at that. I have never had to make
an insurance claim before, so I don't know how either company is to deal with
that way.
Try out GMAC, they don't cover Datonas, Tigers or TT600's for some reason,
nor will they cover my XR400, but I only hop trail to trail with that anyway.
Hope this is good info to the rest of you
Sean
