[ST] insurance

IMHO, you will usually find the lowest price through Progressive, but
they will consistently raise your rates every year. They will also
charge you $7.00 for every piece of correspondence that they send to
you, even if that correspondence is in error, or to advise that they
have remedied the previously mentioned error. Their billing method can
be confusing, and it takes a careful eye to notice the extra charges.
After getting sick of this, I decided to go with State Farm. Since
then, my rates have consistently gone down every year. I am 32, with no
tickets, accidents, or claims for over 6 years, which qualifies me for
their best rate. I just got my policy for the 2001 Sprint RS, and they
are charging me $270 for 6 months, with a $250 deductible on Comp and
Collision. Remember, YMMV, but I hope this helps.

I used to have Progressive and got away from them because they got too
expensive. When they were insuring my '95 Speed Triple for $170/yr, I liked
them, but when they jacked the price to $400, because they "reclassified"
the bike, I jumped ship and went to the Rider's Magazine insurer, GMAC, and
got my $170/yr for the Triumph. It's $230/yr for my 929. Progressive wanted
$720. I live in hte LA area, too, and I say Progressive sux!
