And get your corpulent body to the gym to strengthen your abs.  Handlebars 
are for steering, not to hang on to.  Use your abs and lower back to support 
your weight and posture on the bike.  As the other respondant said, bend 
your elbows -- but you can't bend your elbows if your midsection is so week 
that you are using the handlebars like grandma's walker.
