Alan,

My RS had the fuel leak from the sending unit, like in the recall.  My
problem was similar to what you describe (sometimes a drop other times a
small puddle.)
To troubleshoot it yourself to see if it's the fuel level sending unit, just
pull the gas tank.  Three screws and it lifts up easily.  Once lifted you'll
see the sending unit.  Look at the connector at the end of the wire coming
off the sending unit.  If that's where the leak is it will be obvious to
you.  The fuel comes down the wire inside the sleeveing and the connector
will be wet (or dripping) with fuel.

As far as dangerous, Yes, I wouldn't (and didn't) drive it.  However I did
end up driving it to my dealer (94mi) without incident.
