Some holes are repairable with a rubber plug.  I have no personal experience
of such matters, but I'd be inclined to replace the tyre if it's already
reasonably warn and you do a lot of "full beans" riding.

I'm quite enjoying the BT020s that are now standard fit on the Sprint
models.  You could also try Azaro IIIs.  I've had Azaro IIs on a couple of
previous bikes and found them to be excellent, providing a good balance of
grip (confidence) and longevity.
