Me and couple of fellow ST riders (Viosca & Oliver) and did a db test last
year. Not terribly scientific but we (Oscar)had a hi-dollar meter from work
and we measured output from about 10 feet behind the bike at about 5,000 rpm
on the stock, the "sport" and David's Aussie underseat set-up (what was the
name?). David, jump in here if you remember more exactly, but I *think* we
got about 91db from the stock, 96db from the sport, and 98db from the
underseat set-up.
The only difference in the SS vs. the Caron fiber is the weight based on the
wrap material.
