Re: [ST] Firearms all the way! - long rant

Here's my ST content: I got my bike back from a
dealer who was fixing an oil leak and I think he
adjusted the chain...it's appears to be fairly tight.
I can look in the manual to get the 'play' that should
be allowed in the chain, but can the chain be *too*
loose? I know it can, but how loose it *too* loose?

Now on for political stuff...

Me neither...and I dont even own any guns.

But they dont have the 2nd Ammendment that we have
here in the US. Many people argue the validity of the
verbage of this Ammendment, but I'll get to that in a
second.

What kind of reform? If you look at the 2nd
Ammendment, it says:
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the
security of a free state, the right of the people to
keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

Some people argue that the National Guard is our
militia. The Supreme Court disagress with that in US
vs Miller (1939). This ruling upheld 10 USC Sec.
311. This law defined all able bodied male citizens
between the age of 17 and 45 as part of the militia.
The National Guard is clearly part of the militia, but
the militia is a much greater force than the Guard
alone.

The reform you mention could be looked at as going
against the last four words of the 2nd Ammendment
which is what *really* gets me ticked. That right
*has* been inringed and will continue to be. Try
walking down the street of a town with a shotgun over
your shoulder. According to this Ammendment, you're
perfeclty legal. However, you'll probably be breaking
some city ordinance or get arrested for inciting a
panic.

The bottom line is that guns dont kill people, people
do. I think more people die from drunk drivers than
from violent crime (no stats, just memory). I think
the efforts should go that way first. Most guns that
are used in violent crime are illegally obtained
anyway, so legislation will just make violent crimes
committed with a gun 'more' illegal, which as you
pointed out, out legal system will probably nor punish
accordingly.

Done with gun stuff now...
