Re: [ST] Helmet locks

I hear ya, Snow Dawg. But when I reserve space in the topcase for the lids
(basically the entire case when two-up), I'm faced with the very
uncomfortable thought that I paid $500 for a helmet lock.

For just my lid, the most secure space is on the bars, jammed up under the
shield and over the instruments and ignition lock. That's where I put it
when I'm not concerned about locking it. It would be great if I could find a
way to lock it there.

I'm looking for options. The bar-end sounded good until you mentioned crazed
SUV moms and their shopping carts. Dangling them behind the rear wheel on
license plate locks would have similar exposure.

A short length of coated 1/16" aircraft cable would be a flexible solution;
loop it through the helmets and lock it anywhere on the bike. The next best
option seems to be chaining it with the jacket to the bike, and covering it
all with a cover. What are you guys using for covers? Are there fitted
covers specific to the Sprint ST (with bags)?
