Eric,

What exactly are you trying to mount? GPS? radar detector? ??? These
http://www.ram-mount.com guys make neat mounting systems for a variety of
applications (GPS, PDA, camcorder, laptop!, etc.). I have one for my Garmin
GPS III+ and it works very nicely. I used a diamond base, trimmed off half
of it, enlarged the hole slightly and put the remaining ear under the gas
tank mount. I'm actually able to use a short stalk and the GPS is tucked
neatly above the triple clamp I still have visibility of the gauges.
