Sounds like if he hadn't hit it he'd be dead, too. 8500 foot drop off,
yikes. Jay I wish you a speedy recovery. I hope you have a kind, generous,
understanding doctor. You are truly lucky to be alive. All those broken
vertebrae. Damn. Will you be able to walk?

RE Tom's comment - I know I don't have the self control. I too had
seriously considered buying a 954 in Silver. I agree w/Jay that for the
money they are a helluva deal. But I just couldn't justify it. My 50 mile
round trip commute makes up about 80% of my riding and I don't imagine the
Honda would make too good of a commuter. Plus I'm just about certain I'd
loop it out doing about 70. A 954 is what el donut should have bought;-)

My ST's top end is gone with the wind. The 18t front sprocket I've just
put on snuffed it out. It had nice long legs now it has a 29" inseam. What
a dramatic power difference though. To all who said dropping a tooth up
front is top performance mod for the money you are so right. I'll get used
to it but for now 5000 - 5250 rpm seems kinda high to be cruising at. The
engine is a tad smoother at 1K less I guess. The thing pulls like a big
Rotax 600cc single though which is nice! Afraid to check my mileage.

Jack I have the oem bars.
Neil it may in fact be the brakes as you're suggesting. Should there be any
play, front to rear, when you grab the bottom of forks with front wheel
elevated and push & pull? I'd say I have 3-4 mm?
