Thanks much.  I'm going to go ahead and spring for the stuff, seeing as I
will most likely be doing this again in 8-9K miles (provided the new ones
last as long).  But I appreciate the offer.

Peter,

I use a Craftsman 1-13/16 socket (it's 3/4"-drive). 
Works just fine.  I also bought a 1/2"-3/4" adapter to
use the socket with my 1/2"-drive breaker bar.

I live in Berkeley.  If you're around here, you're
more than welcome to use the socket.
