[ST] Break In ???

I found a 2002 Sprint ST at a screaming price, but it's 750 miles away.
What are the potential issues with riding a brand new bike 750 miles
over interstate highway?

I used to be that you would vary the rpm's and avoid steady state cruising.
Heat cycling used to be a part of the break in procedure, as well.
If I had to trailer the new purchase, that would take some of the incentive
out of it. I was planning on taking a $69 Greyhound ride with all of my
riding gear in a back pack and then running for home.

Your advice on this question is greatly appreciated.
