Re: [ST] Break In ???



I agree with Martin.  About half of my first 600 miles were on the 
Interstate.  Heat cycling should not be part of the equation with liquid 
cooling.  Some air-cooled engines will get quite hot in the first 200 
miles or so and should be shut down periodically to prevent overheating. 
  To avoid too much steady-state cruising, pass a truck!  I took my '02 
RS in for it's 600 mile oil change at 689 miles and nothing was said at 
all.  At 998 miles I nailed it for the first time and was pleasantly 
surprised.  The front wheel gets light, but it doesn't wheelie on just 
acceleration.
