Hey Tony,
Not to pour water on your parade, but chances are much of the
"K&N" improvement comes from having correctly adjusted valve
clearances.  In my season of servicing Triumphs I rarely saw more
than three or four valves which needed attention, though they
were usually tight rather than loose.  I remember one T595 which
had a bunch of near-zero clearance valves on its 24k service &
the owner was also very impressed with the performance
improvement.
