The proper way to set up all bicycle computers is to:
1 - find a flat surface
2 - set the tire of interest with the valve stem, or a chalk mark on the
tire at the point of contact with the ground.
3 - mark floor at stem or mark
4 - set tire pressure to normal
5 - sit on bike and roll forward until stem or mark comes back to the floor
denoting one complete tire revolution
6 - measure distance between marks on floor and enter into computer.

This is most accurate because it accounts for the reduction in tire
diameter from the weight of motorcycle (bicycle) and the rider deflecting
the tire's sidewall.
