Re: [ST] Bring on the cold!!!...this enough?



Three phase alternators have no linear characteristic curve for the produced output power - so it isn't correct to calculate the output power via the rotations as a linear function.
The full output power will be delivered usually by 1/3 of the maximum rpms of the alternator.

During 'normal' driving conditions always enough current will be delivered for all load (ignition, lights etc.). If your vest needs not more than 50 Watts (3.6 Amps) it should be ok with your 400 W Alternator.
