Re: [ST] Sprockets and Chain Maintenance

I still have stock sprockets on the ST so I am talking theoretically here.
There are some possible negative effects of going down 2 teeth on the
countershaft.

The tighter turn might make for more rapid chain wear.
The adjustment that is necessary to take up the slack will alter your rear
axle height.
(?The smaller front sprocket may make the chain accelerate the wear on the
pad on top of the swingarm?)

I know it involves a little extra cost, but why not go down one tooth in
front and up one or two teeth in back? Stock chain would be the correct
length and the above consequences would be minimized or avoided.

Just a thought....not a criticism of anyone's choice.

Lou
