I've had mine touch down on the left side in a turn with a dip in
it.  No big deal, though it is unnerving.  An alternative would
be one of the helper stands such as available from Aerostich:
http://www.aerostich.com/riderwearhouse.store .  Just click on
'miscellaneous tools'.
