Re: [ST] Valve Train Trouble

Hi there Dan

I would not be afraid to heli coil that-or anything else. I have helicoiled
even spark plug threads, with the head on, with no problems.
Do, however be careful. If I was going to do the repair job on your
Triumph, I would use a large gob of chassis grease, applied around the
offending area. The reason for that is the shavings for the repair will
stick to the grease, and not go elsewhere. When your repair is completed,
wipe all the grease&shavings away, and you are home free. This machine has
an oil filter, which will seperate all left over shavings from the oil. Run
it a hundred miles or so, and change the oil and filter.

Good Luck
