Ronnie,
It sounds like you're being fed a line of BS.  In this state you
have 30 days to notify your insurance of a change of vehicle
status.  Allstate has . . . err, a reputatuion for being somewhat
difficult at times.  Suggest you not just accept what the
adjuster is telling you, move up to the next level and don't quit
until you have satisfaction.
