I ripped up my rear BT57 in 1600 miles. I chalk it up to an overactive
throttle, too little rear pre-load, and extra weight (running around with
all three bags and weighing 235 lbs). Still I thought that was a little
low. I've been running Michelin Pilots with only 3-4k out of the rear...
but my fronts always show very little wear. I just put on a Macadam 100x on
the rear, we'll see how that goes. I have a theory that maybe the rear
shock works the tire too much but I can't prove it to myself enought to
shell out the $$$.
