I have always been told that the best way to set the tire pressure is to 
messure the pressure change for cold to hot. You are looking for something 
like a 10% to 15% increase. This is the ballpark, use feel and personal 
preferance to decide. Too great a change means too little cold pressure. A 
greater then 20% rise is definitly too low.
This method works best on the track where you know you have gotten the 
tires fully up to temperature.
