RE: [ST] Dang the archives! Need alternative oil filter alternati ves

My 2001 Sprint ST owner's manual states that the minimum octane is 95 RON.
Is the 91 RON an RS or a different year?

The manual says 91 RON. The United States calculates octane using (RON +
MON)/2. When I first got my RS two years ago, I did the research and called
Mobil, Texaco, and Citgo to ask what octane would meet the 91 RON specified
in my owners manual.

Not one manufacturer could or would tell my the RON number in the octane
rating. However, the concensus was that 89 octane would suffice in most
cases. It varys from manufacturer and process batch, but typically 89
octane will meet the RON rating of 91.

Hope this helps.
