[ST] Oil Filters

Last time we had this debate, I weighed in on the side of Fram filters being just fine, as I'd used them all my life with no ill results. Since then I've spoken to a couple of people that HAVE HAD first hand experiences with failures. Along with a recomendation from a mechanic I know who said he would never use one on a sportbike, although he sells them in his shop for Harleys. A couple of links I found interesting.

I wouldn't mind going to the dealer and picking up OEM filters, if they weren't 250 miles away. In my search for replacement, I found a great cross reference at Baldwin filters.

In the meantime, I bit the bullet and got a re-usable stainless steel one from Scotts.

I'll take 10 changes to recupe the cost, but a lot less time and aggrevation. Not to mention I can clean it out and replace it in the middle of nowhere if I ever need to.
